Since an Esquire already has all the routing and cable routings for a neck pickup from the factory, it's easy to add the original Fender Custom Shop neck pickup - including all the electronics and a second original Fender 50s pickguard. So now you have all the classic Tele sounds at your disposal, and if you want to undo the whole thing again: no problem, take the neck PU out again and put the single Esquire pickguard back on.
