1967 Silvertone 1478, blake placid blue w/blue foils

Beschreibung

Silvertone 1478 guitar. This guitar has a metallic blue finish and comes with two DeArmonde blue foil pickups. This color combination was only made in 1967. Most of them are a red Sunburst. The guitar has an offset style body. The neck is the typical Harmony profile that is chunky and rounded. The neck feel is pretty much the same from the headstock to the body. This guitar works and has the original electronics. It has been cleaned and adjusted. The neck is straight and the truss rod works. There is some lighter normal fret wear but not heavy wear. The body has finish nicks and small scratches here and there. There are a few spots along the edges where the finish has flaked or been scraped off. There is a little finish missing on the seam line in the headstock. This is common with Harmony guitars and this model in particular. There is no crack or separation. It is something that could be touched up with a marker if you like. I never got around to it. The finished has "greened" slightly on the guitar. This is from the clearcoat yellowing over the years. This is more noticeable on the back of the guitar. One of the hard to find little tone knobs was replaced with another original knob. The replaced knob has more of the yellowing than the other three. The whammy bar is missing on this guitar. These are fun and good sounding guitars. This one looks especially good with the blue finish. Comes with the worn original soft case.
