1981 Ibanez George Benson GB 10

Description

In the summer of 1980, the author of these lines often hung out at the local disco, wearing a proud moustache (cough, cough) to look more mature, where DJ Barry ("God") played the latest dance hits at full blast. And amongst all those glittery, but dull bass heavy sounds, there was this new song, and all of the sudden "there was music in the air and lots of loving everywhere ...". And there was this guitar sound - it wasn't rock, although it rocked, it wasn't disco either, it was just plain great. At the next visit to the local record store, it turned out that this "new disco star" was George Benson who already had a solid, 15-years and counting jazz career under his belt - and this music became more interesting later for me....
